da betway: Leeds United are a big club with a significant fan base and a stadium that can accommodate nearly 40,000 fans. During the good times, fans have been treated to top quality Premier League football and a team that has reached the latter stages of both the UEFA Cup and the Champions League. However, the bad times have seen the club drop down to League One, spent time in administration and nearly going out of business completely. The current chairman, Ken Bates deserves some credit for stabilising the club – however Simon Grayson is the real star for promotion last season and a possible play-off place this season.
da bet esporte: Simon Grayson earned a reputation for himself as manager of Blackpool and during his time there guided the club into the Championship. Many people believe that the foundations he made at Blackpool have had a significant impact on the success they have enjoyed in the last couple of seasons. The work that Grayson did at Blackpool impressed Leeds enough to make him their new manager and the fact Grayson left a Championship club for League One Leeds says a lot about the pull of the club.
Grayson guided Leeds to a play-off place the season he came in and led them to second place in League One last season. However, Leeds are a big club and fans have big expectations, as a consequence of that Leeds supporters are hardly ever happy. Last season Leeds enjoyed a very bright start to the season and it wasn’t long before they had established an 8 point lead. However, a run in the FA Cup took the focus away from the league. Leeds let slip their advantage and allowed Norwich to close the gap. It was during this time that Leeds fans started to question Grayson and some of them called for him to be sacked. Grayson remained as manager and Leeds ended up finishing second behind the eventual winners Norwich City.
This season Leeds have done well and are currently maintaining a play-off place, but the problem with being a big club is success is expected. Some people may look at the position that Leeds are in and take the view that they should be in this position anyway. That all being said Leeds have probably been praised more than any other Championship club.
There is no doubt that Simon Grayson is one of the brightest young managers around and if Leeds continue to progress he will receive his fair share of praise. A club like Leeds will always receive a lot of media attention, which will put pressure on Grayson – but also give him the opportunity to prove himself.
