da fazobetai: According to reports in The Sun, West Ham United could be ready to target a move for Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart this summer.
What’s the word, then?
da bet esporte: Well, the England international has returned to the Etihad following a season-long loan spell with Torino but with the deal unlikely to be made permanent – and with the 30-year-old surplus to requirements under Pep Guardiola at City – he will already have begun his search for a new club.
Now, Irons boss Slaven Bilic is said to be ready to hand the England international – who was beaten by two Leigh Griffiths free-kicks in the 2-2 draw against Scotland on Saturday – a Premier League lifeline as he looks to provide competition for Darren Randolph and Adrian.
One sticking point could be the stopper’s £100,000-a-week wages and the £18m transfer fee City are asking for though, with the Hammers wanting a loan deal first so they can match Hart’s salary – with a view to a permanent move.
Would he be a good signing?
Even though he has been one of the best in the Premier League for a number of years and is the first choice for his country, there are a lot of doubts as to whether Hart is starting to go downhill.
Guardiola clearly doesn’t rate the 30-year-old and high-profile mistakes for England at Euro 2016 and Torino on loan last season certainly hasn’t helped his cause.
That said, class is permanent and if the stopper finds a club where he is supported and backed as the number one, we might see a return of the goalkeeper that has been so pivotal to City’s success in recent years.
Do West Ham really need another keeper?
Unless one of Randolph and Adrian is leaving this summer, you wouldn’t think so.
If Hart was to join it would be clear that one of the duo would be making their exit as there is no way that either would want to be the third choice at the London Stadium.
Despite playing the majority of the season, Randolph is the most likely casualty after Adrian’s contract was extended by two years last month.
What’s the verdict, then?
Well, while there would be little surprise if West Ham did fancy taking a punt on Hart considering the quality he has shown during his career, a move seems unlikely unless Randolph is leaving this summer.
